You can register a company in Sri Lanka online, through the Registrar of Companies' eROC system. Each service below links to the official site and says what still needs a visit.

Can I register a company online in Sri Lanka?

Yes. The Registrar of Companies runs company registration on eROC. You reserve the name, then file the incorporation forms and pay online. The Registrar charges Rs. 2,600 to approve a name and Rs. 5,200 to register a private limited company, excluding VAT (Gazette Extraordinary 2496/03).

Do I have to file my income tax return online?

Usually, yes. Individuals must file online. Senior citizens may file on paper, and so may taxpayers the Commissioner-General approves. Companies must file online for every year of assessment from 1 April 2023.

When is the beneficial ownership deadline?

21 October 2026. The Registrar of Companies set that revised deadline for companies and entities required to submit beneficial ownership details. Filing is online at bo.drc.gov.lk and costs Rs. 2,300 a form, plus applicable taxes.

How do I get a document attested for use abroad?

Book an appointment online, then hand over the original at the Consular Affairs Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Battaramulla. Birth, marriage and death certificates can be authenticated through e-DAS. The fee is Rs. 1,200 a document for Sri Lankan citizens.
